Smoke detectors, sockets, alarm clocks, air vents, mirrors, chargers, picture frames. Hold 30cm away, move at walking-slow speed.
03Confirm the glint
Lights on, switch to Lens glint. A real lens returns a tight, sharp reflection that follows your angle.
What this can and can't see
A phone camera reveals infrared emitters and reflective lenses. It cannot see cameras hidden behind one-way glass with no IR, or devices that are switched off. Treat a clean sweep as one strong signal, not a guarantee — and if you find a real device in a rented space, stop touching it and contact local authorities.
